Default Chihuahua having babesiosis

Yesterday evening my 3 yr old chihuahua had fever(103.6F),today morning i gave her blood sample and in the evening i got to know of the disease..im the morning the vet adminsitered vaccine for fever and antibiotic, after which she didnt has fever till now..in the evening he told me that we caught the disease early, the TLC count of a healthy dog should be 7 to 8 k and she has 5700..4k or below is dangerous and her HB is 11.6 which for normal dogs is 12 to 14..so je administered the vaccine and said that she would be fine, would take another blood sample after 15 days and will give the same vaccine after 21 days..she came home and finally ate the plain sugarfree icecream and was looking for more...now im going to feed her a little chicken soup, she is active now than before...the vet said she shouldn't have a fever and if she does i need to take her to him..besides this i have my 8 week old chihuahua puppy,he is all well snd eating and playing...what care should i take for both of them
.p.s. few days back i found a tick on my infected chihuahua and killed it,so no more ticks

This is a tick born disease. It can be transmitted to humans, so be careful. The google site for this is full of information. It can be spread to the puppy too. Make sure that you check for ticks on the puppy as well as the 3 year old. I would check with a flea comb EVERY time they came in from being outside. Also I don't know if you have a yard, but you might have an exterminator treat for ticks. Good luck. Hopefully you got this early. Keep us informed, we all care.

As far as feeding her, I would keep up with bland diet fed in small amounts so that her tummy doesn't get upset with a large volume of food.

The dog got sick because of the tick?
I've heard of this but never had my dogs get sick of a flea/tick
I agree with Susan, constantly checking both dogs and if you have a front/backyard getting it treated. Maybe even cleaning the home just to be in case.

Maybe give some rice and plain boiled chicken. That's usually what I give my dogs when they have upset tummies.

I fed her a little more ice cream in the night as she was feeling hungry...she does not have fever since 12 in the noon yesterday..she didnt eat ice cream in the morning, now im going to give her some bread with soup..and I've checked both dogs,no ticks on them..i wanted to ask that she is just lethargic and weak than her normal state...is it okay considering she has just started to recover from the disease and after suffering from fever and vommiting.

This may be a day of feeling OK, and then the next day not feeling so good. That is why the vet wants to see her in two weeks. Did she get medication from the vet? I give my chi's medication in p.butter, or cream cheese. Goes down great, and with out a struggle!
