Default X-Pen?

I want to give Maya some more space to move around when she has to be in her area, so I was thinking of getting an x-pen for her. I was thinking that if I bought a piece of carpet to put underneath, then I wouldn't ruin my carpet.

How tall do you think I need to buy for her? She has never *knock on wood* tried to climb out of the playpen, but I wouldn't put it past her later. She 11 months old. She stay in there during the weekdays when I have daycare kids (for her safety) but she mostly sleeps. I play with her for a couple hours whent he kids nap.

She is pad trained, so I would put a pad at one end and her food and bed at the other like it is now in her playpen, but she would have more room to move.

Does anyone do this? Does it work out ok?

I have a 4'X4' x-pen that is 24" tall that I have for CoCo and Cotton. Cotton can't get out but if CoCo gets spooked she will climb out of it.

dogs prefer a space where they have enough room to stand up, turn around and lay down. dogs are den animals, they are okay with an area with just enough room, it helps them to feel safe! my little pups have a nice black cage/crate from petsmart. they used to be in a xpen and they learned to jump out haha

I have use an expen and on the floor use interlocking pieces designed for under workout equipment. Easy to clean but wouldn't work for chewers. Although my Harley just sleep and doesn't really use it but I am planning on a second dog so maybe they will play when I am not home?

a 36" high should be fine for a none jumper, 24" might be pushing it. i know dodger can clear a 3ft fence no effort (hes part kangeroo), but vixie cant get over anything higher than 2 ft...I have a 48" tall pen for my guys for outside while the fence needs work but anythinglower then 3ft woulnt work for my kids...lol
