Default Harness

Hi all,

Kye used to have a Puppia Harness, but he hated it when we used to take it off him (he didnt like it over his head!), well he actually got his front leg and head stuck in it at the same time, and i couldnt free him so i had to cut the harness off him.

So at the moment he only has a normal lead and harness in one and cant go runing on his extendable lead!! - bless!.

Are there any other harnesses that you can recommend that dont need to come off over his head, but that are just as good and safe as the Puppia ones???

Also where i can buy them from!.

Thanks x

Hey I heard about these puppia harness's that do up at the back a while ago so you dont have to slip it over the dogs head, I was thinking of getting one for Zero at one point cos he gets his head stuck.

and theres a link to them on pet london
http://www.petlondon.net/shop/acatal...cket_Camo.html

Thats the best I've found but I was wondering if anyone has one here?

I hope that helps

I have 2.. they run smaller than the normal puppias so the fit isn't great for my bigger boys. Jack is a bit over 5 lbs and Ty is a bit over 6 lbs (they both fit fine in the small regular puppia but the new one seems a bit too small for both of them). You can't adjust the buckle piece and it sits right on their spine and if it's a bit tight it seems like it could be uncomfortable digging into their bone. I would recommend them, they're made very well but the sizes are sort of the "too big or too small" thing. Leila has an XS bc the small regular puppia is too big and the XS puppia doesn't go on over her head, but it's almost too small also. If you could try it on first I would recommend doing that, otherwise make sure they have a good return/exchange policy

there are all sorts of styles of harneses.

do a search for "STEP IN" harnesses, they have 2 holes for the legs and clip or fasten on the back so no pulling it over the head!

I bought one like Foxy described at Petsmart...just $10.00! I love it. It looks sort of like a "mask" which is where the legs go through (the "eyeholes") and is totally lightweight, adjustable, and the clip on the back has two clips for safety. I was so glad to find it...we went through a lot of harnesses looking for the right one.

Perhaps it's on Petsmarts website if you can't find something similar in the UK.

I hear buddybelts which also are like a step in are great. They buckle at the back and take all pressure off the neck. They are leather and come in many different sized and colours. www.buddy-belts.com . I have seen chis around here wearing them.

Thanks for your replies, ive brought him the one from PetLondon (the Puppia Orion 2). It came last night and he went on his first walk with it on this morning!!.

At last, we dont have the issue with getting it stuck on his head and having to fight to get it off!!.

I brought the XS and it fits fine, its even a little loose where it clips together, but fits fine at the velcro strip so he's all snug in it!!.

Ill post some pictures at some point so you can have a look.

Cheers x
