Unhappy today is the day :[

just venting.

Its officially the day of sophie's spaying. I'm a lot more nervous than her, but i try not to show it. i cleaned my room & the house real good, washed all her bedding & some extra blankets and towels (the vet said they will have a lot of accidents. We did all her favorite things. Took a ride to "daddys" house, had a yogurt pop, played with coco (my boyfriends german shepeard mix), played fetch and had a bath (she loves warm baths!) i know in the morning is going to be so hard. she's never been without me so i hope she does well. my friend sent me a lot of links from a google search of people who have lost their chihuahuas after getting fixed (Which didn't help my worry!) but i know that a small chance. just like getting pregnant on birth control. ah. but i've cleared everything for this weekend so she can have some one-on-one time with me.
i sound crazy when i read this out loud. lol but i love my little girl. and the thought of her in pain kills me. but i know i'm doing the right thing!

thanks for letting me vent. i'm glad you all are so amazing!

Mr. Big and I are sending good thoughts to you and Sophie today! I'm sure everything is going to go just as planned but I know that doesn't help much when you're worrying. I'll be going through the same thing in just over a week when I take Mr. Big in to get neutered. But we are doing the right thing for our babies.

I have to say the chances of it happening are pretty slim, of course you know that but you just don't want to be one of those, who wouldn't? I'm sure as long as have taken care and made sure she is in good hands, she will do just fine. My wishes for you and especially Sophie.

Don't worry....she will be fine!!

Lucy got spayed a month ago....she came home that night and was very tired. Just slept the whole night. The next day she was still tired, but getting more like herself. And by the third day she was the same, playful Lucy she is.

And I was lucky that Lucy didn't lick her scar at all. The first night I left her "cone" on....but he hated it.....I took it off of her and she was fine....no licking at all.

A month later she is completly healed. You are doing the right thing, don't worry about it.....she will go through a little pain now, but will be thankful later on!

Good luck!!!

Awww, I know your worry but, she should come through it just fine. ItZy
was just like all the rest and slept the first evening. Try not to transfer your
fear to her as she will feel your pain.
Just love her and let her heal....sending positive thoughts to you and Sophie.
