Default Fatal attraction chihuahua!!! Help !!!

Hello everyone,

I have a 3yr old chihuahua baby boy named speedy. He has some very unusual behavior and i would like some advice. I recently gave him a stuffed animal to play with and he does not want to leave it's side, he sleeps all day next to it and doesnt get up well only to eat and sometimes he doesnt even do that. When i call him to give him attention he ignores me and stares at the stuffed animal and wont bother to get up. is this normal behavior? should i take the toy away? Is he obsessed? I need help!! Any advice would be greatly appriciated. Thank you !

Hmmm? Dog's can have OCD, has he ever shown and obsessive compulsive bahviors before this? Is he neutered? Does he hump it as well? Has something changed in his environment?

Sounds like me with my Dos XX..lol. Some chi's just have their little quirks. My God Doggy is like that with her Gund Stuff Bear.

I gave Ginger a little stuffy dog several months ago. She takes it with from room to room, even to eat and puts it beside her dish.

Is the one you gave little Speedy an 'animal' stuffy, as in made for dogs? Could there be something in or on it that 'drugs' him? I don't know much about Chi behavior, but it really sounds strange for him to not even want to go eat sometimes. Could there be a health problem that just started at the same time? I sure hope everything's okay with him and he starts being himself again!

Thank you so much for your answers, The only other weird behavior speedy has is if my mother comes to visit me, speedy automatically clings to her and he turns on me he growls and tries to attack like if i was a stranger and its even worse if i bring him to visit at her house. Is that an OCD behavior or just an aggression problem? Speedy does tend to hump the stuffed animal and he is not neutered. The only change he has gone through is just that i switched that junk biproduct food to a healthy organic food.

So other chihuahus do this? But not as extreme as mine? lol it was starting to really worry me.

The stuffed animal is not made for specifically for dogs, but he even did this since he was a puppy and at times he becomes very defensive with the toy like lets say i get near him and he is laying down and i walk next to his stuffed animal he will jump out of bed and stand in front of the toy and growl at me and even try to attack. Is that normal? I dont know what to do his aggression is getting pretty bad and nothing seems to help.

Yesterday i took the stuffed animal away and he cried for s little while and just roamed around the house searching for it, but now he is getting out of bed a little bit more but not much he just wants to sleep now like if he is sad or something.

Thank you so much for your guys help!!
