Nope, not talking about the hundreds of circles before they finally stop to take care of business. Peanut's and my little potty dance is two steps forward, three steps back.
From about Saturday to Tuesday, Peanut did fabulous--using only the potty box, no accidents whatsoever. Yesterday I lost count of how many times I cleaned up pee AND poop. Little monster has always pooped in the potty box, but he's on a poop-on-the-floor streak right now. This morning I got up around 3:30 to find that he'd pooped in the box last night, but peed an ocean on the floor. (Found it by stepping in it, which is such a lovely
way to start my day.
I'm beginning to wonder if this is an adolescent thing (is there even such a thing with puppies?), or if Peanut truly just doesn't understand what he's doing. I'm more inclined to believe it's pure craziness b/c I don't even have to say anything and he crouches down, looking all pitiful, because HE KNOWS
he messed up. If he just trotted around, tail wagging, without a care in the world, I would think maybe he just didn't understand the difference yet, but you can tell he knows he did wrong.
So frustrating. We were on such a roll, I was hoping the bigger part of the boo-boos were done. I can handle an accident every now and then....if I know
it was truly an accident.
Just needed to blow off some of this steam...
