Default What's making Lola itch?

She's been itching her head and body. I've checked her over several times and there's absolutely no redness or dry skin. No fleas or flea dirt at all. Nothing.

At night when it's bed time she doesn't itch she just sleeps through. What could be causing her itch? When I first got her she itched a bit but then it stopped. Now she's itching again.

If her food or nothing has changed at all - she could be developing an allergy to something in her food possibly. I hope you can figure it out & find a solution!

What food is she on?
Have you changed laundry detergents or softeners?
Are you wearing perfumed body lotion or perfume?
Did you spray any air fresheners in your house?
Use a different product to clean with?

Etc, etc.

In other words, dogs can respond negatively to all kinds of changes that wouldn't mean anything to you. It's possible, like Heather said, that she's become sensitized to something in her food. But it could also be something you're doing, some new or different product etc., depending on how sensitive she is to environmental factors.

omg I was going to post this a few weeks ago!! my chis were in a kennel at the end of december/ beginning of jan and they came home itching so I was CONVINCED they had fleas even though I couldn't see any or any dirt so I immediately gave them a flea bath trying to get rid of them b4 it spread to my other pets which would've been a nightmare. Then when they were still itching a week later ig ot advantage and administered it twice , a month apart and still itching no visible fleas or dirt so i gave them another bath a month later no dead fleas either time in the tub and it was driving me nuts but now all of a sudden they don't itch anymore........I still never found out why they're hair and skin were all normal not red and nice and shiny....maybe they had a slight dry skin with no flakes?? I have no idea but it was real annoying trying to get to the bottom of it.
