Default Yuck, flea! Should she get a bath?

Just got home from a long hike at the lake/ dog park here with Reese and Miley. When I picked her up out of her Sleepypod to carry her in I saw a flea on her neck. I did catch the little sucker and pulled him off of her. She really wasnt a great choice, very thin coat lol! Anyway, I know its common for there to be fleas in the mutt run area so Im not surprised. Just wondering is it best to give them each a bath or let it be? They had their flea/heartworm preventative on the 1st, Im just not sure if its better to give them a bath or whether its cutting it a little close with their topical meds.
Thank you!

1 flea can turn into hundreds, fast! I would bathe her, and thoroughly clean any where she was. Car, bedding, vacuum, etc.

You're supposed to wait at least 2 days after giving them Frontline, Advantix, etc. You should be o.k. for bath if they had meds. on the 1st. It probably isn't a good idea to let it be because they can get in the bedding & populate. They should die when they bite the dog tho.

I agree with T, I hate fleas! I've only caught one on Gretel once but you'd have thought my house was infested the way I was deep cleaning everything she'd touched. And carpet makes the problem loads worse

I agree with T, I'd bathe her and vacuum just in case!

Fleas are such a bother! It seems like in my area of the country they were especially bad this summer too My vet gives me Comfortis for my dogs, it kills for up to 30 days and is a pill, just in case. I would probably be spazzing out and bug bombing the house lol.

my guys have fleas as well no idea how they got them they haven't been anywhere besides my yard and my oh's yard so sad! I washed in dawn too it didn't kill them all, i also used flea shampoo and they were still itching so i put lavender oil on their fur last night in the neck area, I was at work all day but since being home I haven't seen 1 itch (knocks on wood) my first time trying the lavender since I can't buy any advantage until I get paid in 2 weeks trying to make due with what i have. Also I've been feeding coconut oil it's supposed to kill the fleas too apparently........

Ninja has no hair from the chest down and very thin hair everywhere else and he has huge scabby bites on him don't even know why they'd bother with him he's always cold and hates sweaters lol darn fleas!!!!!!!!
