Default Food

I have a very picky eater on my hands, Chili will not eat dog food very often, he only picks at it a little. When I'm cooking my family dinner it's gotten to the point where I make sure I make an extra pice of chicken, pork ect. for him. Any suggestions to get him to eat his dog food or is it ok to eat the meat I cook. (when I make his meat I don't put seasonings or anything on it)

Feeding a diet of cooked food is very difficult to balance. It requires supplements in order to provide your dog with the correct nutrients. If you do it wrong, your dog can become ill.

I would recommend just leaving his food out 2 times per day for 15 minutes. If he doesn't eat it, take it away until the next meal time. A healthy dog will not starve itself.

I tried evo and orijen plus a bunch of cheaper ones. I don't add water to it because he will definitely not eat it then. Surprisingly the vet says he's very healthy but I swear he's worse than a child lol. I have always kept his bowl full but it seems like i only fill it once every other week. I will have to look into the supplements though so I know he's getting his nutrients

You need to not change his food. Pick one and stick with it. Changing food a lot creates a picky eater. As already suggested, leave it down for a set time and then pick it up. He will eat when he is hungry. Leaving it down all the time will not encourage him to eat. Adding water makes it easier to digest and makes kibble smell better to them. They seem to like it better with a bit of water. And you need to 100% stop feeding cooked meat. If he knows he is going to get that, why would he eat the kibble?
