Default Is beach walking ok?

Hi everyone, is it ok to walk a chi on the beach, i was thinking it would be ok if i walked charchi on the wet part of the sand, being that it would make it easier for him to walk on?

I would think it would be OK, as long as they don't ingest the sand!

It depends how he reacts to the sand. We can't take Chloe to the beach because she buries her face in the sand and tries to eat it.

Should be just fine as long as Charchi doesn't try eating it like Chloe in the above post, hehe. We live very close to a lake and walk there often with our crew; my chi Zoey enjoys swimming too!

Yeah, charchi,s 5 weeks post op, he had a fluxating patella in his left knee. Ive taken him to the beach the last 2 day,s now kept him on leash of course, and just let him have a few minutes walking on the hard sand where its a little wet , i diden,t want him trying to walk on the soft sand i thought that would hurt his knee. Just taking it slowly with him so he doesen,t hurt his knee. But the first day he had ever seen the beach every time he saw another dog he would go off his brain growling, barking and trying to get away to play with the other dogs, but it,s way to soon for that, today at the beach he settled a lot quicker, i plan to take him to the beach every day, should i use sunscreen on his nose and if so do they make ones for dogs? thanks guys-janet.
