Default Scheduled Chloe's spay

Chloe is scheduled to get spayed next Tuesday. I've done a ton of research and asked the vet a ton of questions. I feel as comfortable as I can possibly be with the procedure and the answers the vet gave. She will be getting gas anesthesia, so she will wake up very easily and she won't be asleep all day like if IV anesthesia were used. She will also not have any external stitches.

So , my question now is is there anything I need to have available at home or is there anything that I need to be prepared for other than what I already have?

I have a can of the same brand of dog food she eats. I'm also going to make some chicken and rice before she gets home. She has some PJs from Elaine to keep her warm and I thought she would be less likely to bother the incision if there were clothes covering it. I'm also ok with getting her play pen back out if she won't stay still. We don't have a kennel. I'm afraid she will try to jump out of the play pen, so it will only be a last resort.

sounds like you're well prepared! it will be stressful, but once it is done and over with it'll be such a relief! FYI on the stitches-I was told Miya wouldn't have any external stitches but once all was said and done, they only did external stitches because apparently her skin is too thin for internal stitches. Good luck Chloe! What date is that, the 25?

It's the 18th. Thanks for the heads up! I already got her one of those things that are like cones of shame, but they are more like a pillow before I knew about the internal stitches. So, I decided to just keep it until after the spay just in case we needed it.

Our Chloe got spayed last month and it went really well. She also had external stitches but she left them alone and didn't need a "cone-o-shame".

She got a metacam injection after the operation and we had some metacam liquid we gave her for the first two days she was home. It was obvious that she was in some pain those days. After the 3rd day, she was back to her usual energetic self, wanting to play and boss around the cats.
