Default Does anyone use one of these in the car?

I was just wondering if anyone uses one of these seat belt harnesses in their car?

Universal Seat Belt Restraint by Mypet | Pets at Home

Originally we used a booster seat for Max but he gets car sick when travelling in it so we currently use his wire crate in the back of the car. He doesn't get car sick in it but he really doesn't like being caged in the car for some reason so I was thinking he might be happier with a seatbelt restraint like this.

We're going on holiday on Monday and it's a 7 hour drive to get there so I'm thinking of picking one up tomorrow to give it a try but just wanted to know if anyone has tried one and if so does it work for you?

Thanks!

ive used one od those before but it really does restrain them...the length is so short i dont feel comfy with my poor furball not being able to move to even see whats going on outside lol. car sickness usually goes away for dogs. how many times has he been in the car rides for?

Hmmm I did think it looks like it wouldn't give much room to move around. To be honest though he can't do or see much when he's travelling in his crate anyway, I'm just thinking this way he'll hopefully feel a bit less restricted as he currently sits with his nose poking though the bars looking sorry for himself.

He's been in the car loads, I think the booster seat was a bit bouncier which was making him sick as he is fine in the crate but not as relaxed for some reason.

crates are def. not relaxing lol esp. for a small chi! what kind of booster seat have u used? the one that a lot of us members here use is called snoozer lookout and its sooooo comfy. it has little clip thing too but lots of room. both my chis love it esp. because they get to look around and feel a part of the family

Yeah I have seen that one mentioned on here but don't think anywhere sells them in the uk other than Ebay and they aren't cheap. The one I have is the Solvit Tagalog.

I wish there were 3 seats in the front of the car then he could sit with us!!

At the moment I am using one of those. You should always use it in combination of a harness!
You can usually adjust the length of it but the longer you make it the less use it actually has in case of an accident (as your dog would just slip of the seat when it's too long). So you should actually make it as short as possible with you dog still being comfy.
Rocky doesn't mind it he will just sleep on his blanket straight away.

At the moment it's fine but I am planning on getting him a fabric crate as I think that is more secure than the seat belt.

I have a Fancy Fido Car Seat that works nicely (Fancy Fido Custom Dog Car Seats & Collars by FancyFido on Etsy) but Ote nor Mojo get car sick. My mom has three Golden Retrievers and 2/3 of them get car sick (the mother & daughter duo of course - must be genetic) and the prescribed car sickness medicine for them. She tries to keep their car riding days limited so that they are comfortable.
