Default Do your Chis go outside during the winter?

Just wondering what everyone does during the winter. I know some people are diligent about walking their Chis and still walk their Chis during the winter, but others do not because their Chis do not like the cold. Gemma is not adapting to the cold very well and so far it is only 48F. When we go for walks she just resists and wants to go back inside. The length of a 10 minute walk takes about 30 minutes now with all the resisting she does. Once we start heading back towards the apartment, she's practically running towards the door. When it drops to 0 I'm not sure what she's going to do outside, lol.

I out Mylo's hoodie on if it's cold now and although he was still shivering a bit he still enjoyed his walk. It's not that cold here yet so we'll see what happens but at the moment I take hm out if it's not raining. He will not walk in rain!

Roxy's fine going out at the moment and it's getting pretty chilly later in the evening now. I do put a hoodie on her to keep some of the cold out. I'm lucky, she'll even go out in the rain if I put her raincoat on her.

I put Gemma's hoodie or sweater on, but she doesn't really like wearing them and she still just shivers and puts on the breaks and wants to go back inside. It would be great if she would keep going for walks this winter but I'm not going to force her if she's miserable. I don't want to make walking a bad thing. She does okay in the rain as long as it is light rain, but she is terrible in the wind. If any wind blows in her face, she just stops and looks at me like "Help! It's a tornado!" And it's almost always windy here. If we can't continue walks, I'm going to invest in a nice purse/bag to conceal her in so at least she can get out and smell the fresh air with me while I do errands or go for a walk myself. She's very happy when she sits in a bag, lol. I was even thinking about possibly getting her a stroller. Maybe my boyfriend can spoil me for Christmas.

Lucky! I wish Gemma was so tolerant. She is only 2.7lbs and has quite a thin coat, so I guess that could contribute to her being less tolerant of yucky weather.

Bella and Alfie are taken out twice a day in all weather. I always make sure Bella's wrapped up warm and we just get on with it. Sometimes she's a little hesitant but I think she takes her cue from Alfie as he's always up for a walk so she just follows him.

I've noticed Gemma is fine with being outside if she's with another dog. She seems to forget about the cold then and just wants to chase and play. I wish we had a second to walk her with, or a buddy.

Mine don't seem to mind the cold at all - the past two winters we had heavy snow and Poppy loved it, the others liked it but she looooved it!! she cried at the door all day to be go out in it!

I've forgotten my photobucket password, so here's a link to a thread with photos of them in the snow
