Default Long haired chihuahua rescue in UK

Thanks for letting me join - fantastic site that I have only just coming across whilst looking for something chihuahua related. Just to introduce myself - I am a dog behaviourist and also run a small longhaired chihuaua rescue and rehoming service in the south west of England. If anyone needs any help or advice please do contact me as I am happy to help.

Been rescuing and rehoming dogs for years but specialise in tiny dogs due to my complete obsession with chihuahuas!

Thats it really, just wanted to let anyone in the UK know that if they need any help I'll do my best.

Thanks for reading.

Welcome - and as I'm a novice, I might well take you up on your offer of help at some point. It's good to hear of a chihuahua rescue in the uk: my impression is that they are few and far between here.

Good morning - re the why long haired chi question - I actually take in any tiny dog - but try to limit it to one specific type when mentioning it, simply for the reason that I've been running a private rescue in Spain for seven years (till i moved back here nearly a year ago) and what I've learnt is when people hear about a 'dog rescue' its very possible to find dogs tied up to my gate of left in a box. Whilst I have always taken in any dog that needs help and been active in checking spanish bins for puppies literally thrown in them - and worse -I have chi's myself and absolutely adore them (as well as two rescue labs that i took from killing stations).

Hope that made sense. I regularly bring dogs back from Spain for rehoming in UK, but with the small rescue and rehoming that I run here, I prefer to work with tiny dogs as they have such different needs to larger breeds. I can't bear the thought of them in kennels that are cold etc etc, so they live in the house with us until they are thoroughly assessed and good to go to a new forever home.
