New Rescue ?
I just aquired a tiny little blue and tan long hair girl. She is a KENNEL dog. So many kennels here in TX are 'disposing' of their dogs due to the new Puppy Mill Bill. The lady said this one was just so adorable she couldn't 'put her down' ,would I take her. Well, you know the rest of the story.
So now I have her, and I always keep a new rescue in my grooming shop for a few days to get it used to me, and the yard. And my dogs can smell where she has been in the yard etc, then gradually I let one or two go out with the rescue etc.
My limited experience with 'kennel dogs' is they mark every where, every few min. She tee tees in her crate, and so far I have not seen poop, so I assume she is eating it. She is FAT AS A HOG and not spayed yet.
Question to all of you that rescue: Is it possible to train her to wee wee pads? I have wee wee pads in every room of my house, BIG ones. I know that some of my foster dogs learned to use the pads, but they were not kennel dogs. She is about 6 yrs old and NEVER been outside the kennel. She is precious and is getting spoiled to being held already.
I dont plan to rehome her coz she is MINE now!
