Default Advice please! AKC, Midwest

I have shown horses...but am lost on basics to get started here!
We will not be breeding Lily, so am interested in showing AKC obedience, rally, etc. Can anyone give me advice on how to proceed? I am in Indiana and haven't found a club.
She will be completing her initial class in obedience next week. This is at a K9 training center. We will be enrolled in Novice after next week.
All advice or comments welcome-I am learning as we go.

Whenever I see a pic of your dog i just want to kiss her !! She is so pretty and really think you have made a good choice to show her. sorry I can't help about the training or showing side but I'm looking forward to seeing lily progress, she truly is adorable. I know the site has some older posts on showing chi's have you browsed through some yet? Maybe they can give you some tips. Good luck and ninja said she will be her cheerleader in the crowd !! Lol.

I think getting in touch with the AKC directly will help. They would have a list of clubs you can get in touch with. Also your trainer at your place of training might have ideas. Rally is really neat, as you can talk with your dog. I'd do this first, then move to regular obedience. Agility is fun too.

Sam, thanks for being so positive! I love doing obedience with my dogs. It is a great way to keep both of you on your toes. I need to keep researching to find out what avenues AKC offers.

It may also be worth your time to contact the Chihuahua Club of America:

Only one of my girls is from a show breeder. Her sire is an AKC Champion who has lived in a number of breeder homes in America. She, however is not show quality. Well, none of mine are show quality. We bought both she and the other 2 as AKC registered pets when deemed not suitable for show or breeding.

You should have a lot of options-agility, rally, obedience. There is about nothing cuter to me that a Chi who does agility!

I agree, the best thing about continued agility/obedience is the fun factor! People are always amazed for some reason when they see small dogs going through their paces and behaving correctly.
I was at the Indy Pet Expo yesterday with the girls hoping I might see some local clubs..nothing.
The K9 training center that we go to for obedience/agility is made up of shepards, dobermans, etc. I will look into contacting the CCA home site as you recommended. Thanks
