Default Magnum's Hell Week- the Parris Island experience

Magnum is our 18 month old neutered male. Due to a death in the family we had to take a road trip (1100 mile) to Fl. Instead of resting in his bed he rode in his box. Instead of having the run of the house he was kept on a bed in motels and had to sleep in his box instead of Momma's bed. He adjusted without a whimper and when we took him out at rest stops he was relaxed and did his business quickly. In other words our little friends adapt well to new
circumstances.
We arrived and the rest of the experience happened at two gathering where most of the adults and especially a 5 year old Great Granddaughter in addition to 2 much larger dogs wanted to be his friends. He has never been friendly to children or bigger dogs but by the end of the 2nd. day he was walking around with the other dogs and being carried by little Hannah. Sort of a sudden immersion into these experiences but he seems to better for it.

The first day he might have just been settling. Now he is on the friendly side with dogs and kids try letting him meet more children and dogs often to get him used to them. This may be a turning point for him so good luck !!
Hope everything is ok thats one hell of a drive. Xxx

Sorry about the death in your family. My heart goes out to you.

Glad he was a good boy and made you proud.

It's amazing how quickly dogs will adapt when their 'pack' are with them. Yeah, he went on a veeeeeeeery long drive and stayed in lots of new places but he was ok because he had his family around him so, in his world, it was obviously ok

Such a good boy xxxxxx
