I have an awesome little chihuahua named Roxy. I got her at 9 weeks old and due to our living situation back then, she was pee pad trained. And she was really good about it, unless she was pissy for some reason and decided to take it out on a spot of carpet.
Fast forward to June of this year, we moved into a home where pee pads are not allowed. So we have been attempting to retrain her to go potty outside. After reading a bit on here I realize the shoving her nose in it part was probably a bad idea...
She was doing awesome. We kennel trained for awhile, then let her have free range of the house during the day. However, just recently it is accident city. So I now kennel her during the day and take her right out when we get home from work, she also goes right out in the morning...a few times actually. She is good sometimes about sitting right near the backdoor but the accidents have made it so no one will watch her and she isn't allowed over to anyone's house. She has a tendency to poop in every house or place she visits for some reason...is this normal for chis?
I am at my wits end. She is so stubborn and I want her to be happy and I want her to be able to be out more. Its gotten to the point where my boyfriend won't have her out of her kennel because he won't keep an eye on her like I do. Breaks my heart shes "locked up" more.
Any advice on what to do with the re-training?
