Default Whats best to use in litter tray?

Hi, was wondering what is the best thing to use in a potty tray, what has worked better for you? I want my chis to have one inside, but Molly tears up newspaper, andif i put wee pads on the floor she just picks them up and tries to tear them up as well, she likes to go poo on the bathroom floor, and wees on the hall carpet. I think ? i have worked it out by catching her when she,s weeing that if she does it on the carpet the wee does not sit around her feet, i noticed her try to pick one of her feet up out of the wee when she did it on the tiles in the bathroom. Thinking of trying the grass matt, if the wee sinks into it she might use it HELP PLEASE.

Hmmmmm...hard one
What about trying to learn her not to destroy the pee pads? I think pee pads are the best..or grass yes, if you have a balcony...

I use pine shavings!

My chihuahua has a pine shavings box in our garage for days when the weather is not so fun. Pine shavings are cheap, all natural and absorb odor very well. The only thing is: there's pine shavings in the little corners of my house and on the stairs! Hehehe.

Ha! That's funny. I use tidy cats litter. The only negative is that I'm sure there is litter in more than just corners of my house. Lots of sweeping and vacuuming lol.

There are many indoor dog toilet litter boxes out there. I am using the piddleplace.com and susieQ is doing well with it. I can take it with me when I travel and I don't have to worry about the smell cause I dump it in the toilet and flush it down. She will stay in the crate if she needs to go she'll use it while I'm away. I don't worry about smelly messy pads to clean up after she tears them up. Whatever you decide check out the site and see if it meets your needs. Good luck!🐶

I usually use wee wee pads that fit in a tray for my 2 chi's but I was in a pinch lately and ran out. I just happened to have a stack of packing paper (Duck brand). A bag of 140 sheets is just under 10.00. I was surprised at how absorbent it was. I used several sheets layered on top of each other of course. One of our cats loves to tear up the wee wee pads whenever she gets the chance. She tried to tear up the packing paper but it wasn't as easy for her to claw. She left it alone after that. Maybe your chi would do the same? Good luck!
