Default Collar and leash training help!

Little jack is now 9 weeks old. We live in an apartment complex in Tampa with a couple ponds and constant traffic. I don't want jack to get loose or eaten by anything. I got him a collar "ferret collar" and when I put it on him he squawks and gets mad, now that it's on him he still sleeps on me and follows me around a little but not as much. Just putting the leash on makes him super mad and defiant. Doesn't want to walk or do anything. Any advice??

Try using a harness I've used one for years with no issues whatsoever. Coco never liked a collar.

I'll have to wait a few weeks for a harness. Little guy only weighs a pound so I had to get a ferret collar.

I agree, a harness would be better. And safer 😊

If you can, try positive association with the harness!

With my chihuahua, anything I trained her to do, I used EXCESSIVE treats!

Find the best treats and only bring them out when you use the harness. That may help.

What a terd!
