Default Not chi related- Scarlett

I know a lot of us have done different training with our chis and other furkids so I am looking for thoughts on what I should put Scarlett into. She will be 5 months on 8/31/15. I have noticed she already is too smart for her own good. I also realize she will need a lot more stimulation than my other furkids. Sonny is my champion athlete who I am still debating agility, BG my diva princess that just wants to go shopping, and Gibbs my lazy couch potato.

Scarlett's two biggest drives are her nose and a love of water.

Examples-

Water- loves it! We are trying out her first big pool party on 9/12/15 but as of Saturday she has taught herself to put her head under water in her kiddie pool and blow bubbles.

Nose- There is no track she can't follow. We had her on the deck while my parents and I completed some yard work. She could not see us but when set free she followed our scent trails to everything we touched. Also a rabbit came in my yard last night. She tracked its path through our yard even after a rain storm which should have washed most of the scent away.

I am considering DockDogs-
Chesapeake DockDogs

and maybe some sort of scent tracking training for missing persons, for fun, etc.

Thoughts? Have any done this what other training might you suggest?

Scent work definitely. Or gun dog training.

I've been looking into starting my fur kids in Barn Hunt, since they've been obsessed with catching mice recently. Haha.

'The nose knows' is a class at Camp Gone to the dogs. Scent work basically.

I am looking at this place Jan-
Home Page

They do not see a lot of RedBone Coon Hounds but understand the breed. They have DockDogs, Tracking, Agility, etc so she can take any path she chooses. The lady I spoke to last night said with her the first thing we want to work on is her recall skills. I was doing a happy dance as when her nose is on the ground her ears and brain turn off.

I have worked with, owned, and fostered many Bassets but I have never seen the intensity of her nose! Yes it is a longer drive than I wanted for a training school (about an hour) but I think it might be worth it. It was recommended to me by one of my Basset Rescue friends.

Either do tracking or dock diving- either would probably be fun!
