Unhappy Walkies??

Sometime Bentley is completely fine and we have great walks, we even let him off the lead the other day and he was fantastic (not any other dogs around).
The problem with taking him for walks is:
1)Barks at some people
2)Very aggressive when bigger dogs than him go past us so that he can see
3)He managed to get off his harness yesterday (I quickly grabbed him and put it back on) he got off whilst barking and being aggressive towards a bigger dog (which was off its lead) he wanted to go so much at it he wriggled off his harness.

He has grumbled at smaller dogs but when he can get closer he wags his tail whilst having a little bark (we met up with a neighbour and her small westie type dog when he was doing this, they ran back on forth with each other on the lead) but I just kept thinking what if one of them bites the other, well more what if Bentley bites him.

I am really hoping some of you could help me with him as I love taking him for walks and I know he enjoys them too.

Default walkies

I have exactly the same problem with Candy but it is with all dogs not just big ones.

She barks all the time at everything even at home. I have tried everything to try and stop her, pennies in a can, water spray, even a can of spray that hissed loudly. She runs away from things but carries on barking, I am thinking of trying a dog behaviourist but I don't know how expensive it would be, but it helped it would probably be worth it. So if anyone has any more ideas I would be very grateful

Sounds like leash aggression to me. My lab has this issue, she gets over excited and lashes out because she is not free to get to the other dog as quickly as she would like to. She has even snapped (albeit gently, but still) at the hand of a passerby, b/c he did not acknowledge her when she thought he should have.

We have seen improvement from going to the dog park and letting her run free amongst other dogs, and from teaching the command "Let's go!" - meaning let's ignore that and pick up the pace just a bit, because it is nothing you need to worry about.

This sounds like fear barking - and by scaring her with loud noises and shots of water out of nowhere, you are likely just making it worse and reinforcing that there is something to be afraid of. Try acknowledging her, and showing her that you are calm and there is nothing to worry about (use calming signals like yawning, or just telling her in a soothing tone that it is okay and you have the situation under control. If she is barking out the window, get up and look at what she is barking at, then tell her "okay, that's enough" or something similar. She will be more easily calmed if you acknowledge her fears help her to see that everything is okay, and you have the situation under control.

I am trying that one, *leave* and *come on* I also praise him loads when we walk very close to a stranger and he doesn't bark, my partner thinks i'm crazy haha.
Yesterday he was very determined he wasn't walking the way I wanted him to, (he could hear people behind the trees) and just would budge until my partner came and joined us on our walk.
He is really good, pretty much got used to traffic going past its just the dogs and some other people at the minute we need to break him out of it, will keep trying though. thank you
