Default Anyone eat a raw diet?

I'm just beginning to switch over to raw diet and see if it'll be healthier for me. I have been underweight my entire life and literally all I eat os crap food or fast food and I literally cannot gain a single lb. I know I should be enjoying this but it has been so annoying my entire life when meeting people hearing "OMG your soo skinny" I actually take it as an insult because I do not want to be this skinny. I have been to doctors, nutritionists, trainers in the gym etc nothing works. I have been anemic for 11 years and last summer was diagnosed with a b12 level of 0 which is very critical after fainting a bunch of times and feeling very ill for 6 months not even being able to function properly. I just startd eating really healthy and been boosting my iron intake by eating more leafy greens and more red meat. I have already gained 6lbs since eating healthier and I feel like I have been eating a lot more and have more energy. I also self inject b12 needles went from twice a week and now down to once a month.

Just wondering if anyone else eats raw and how it's been going so far. I get organic vegebtables delivered each tuesday so I feel like it forces me to eat up all the veggies and have been making some cool recipes with them also.

And if anyone has any weight gaining tips I'd love to hear lol I'd like to gain at least 5 more lbs.

I've been debating raw .. but have not implemented it yet ( I sit here eating chips and dip)

I was like you my whole life, having kids fixed the skin and bones thing.. now I actually look healthy, grew some boobs.. have some meat on the bones, but I still wear at most a size 4.

I'd be interested to know how raw affects anemia, because I am anemic as well and find I only feel *ok* when I consume a lot of red meat.

Looking forward to reading the replies you get!

Do you take supplements also like iron? I take iron pills and occasionally need iron shots but for the most part it's been up and down sometimes it will be normal for a month or so then low again.

I guess the key is to have a baby lol I need some more boobies for sure

I am trying to go wheat free and see if it'll make a difference in my health also it's super hard though I have realized in a short time.

I would lift weights to gain more muscle. Make sure that you get plenty of protein too.

I have the b -12 problem too...it is not fun

tried lifting weights with a personal trainer for a year I didn't even gain a single pound LOL! It's like genetically impossible or something really nothing works. I am going to a specialist who takes extensive blood work and takes hair samples and looks for anything possible that could be going on in your body they also offer a free dietician appointment after you get he results but it's like a 6month wait I have heard hopefully he can tell me something.

I just saw this now,
I don't take iron supplements when I tried this when I was younger it made me so sick to my stomach! they threatened me with shots at one point but I am needle phobic.. ha ha

Pregnancy was definitely an issue with the anemia because if you have a bleed during birth it can make it harder to rebound, I did however and have managed ok on my own, do you find your monthly cycles worse when your iron is low? I do.

I find the key is to eat a lot of greens and for me personally red meat.
I have a little fetish for Filet Mignon, it makes me feel better when I eat quality red meat.

Filet Mignon is the only kind of steak i eat I used to have really bad monthly cycles so I used the birth control patch and only got my period 4 times per year but I decided not to be on it anymore and since being off of it my period lasts 3-4 days tops but they are very irregular! I eat a lot of spinach it's my fave veggie. I also try to eat nuts and I have made my own dehydrated peaches which are very high in b12 and iron so I read. My iron usually isn't too bad I can regulate it with diet.

I had no choice but to get b12 injections otherwise I would probably die if I left it at 0 for too long pills wouldn't work on it's own I self inject them it took a lot for me to be able to stab myself in the leg. But it made all the difference in the world I mean it was so embarrassing fainting in public places and I couldn't drive for awhile. It was hard for me to function I went on vacation for a week and felt miserable constantly felt like I was about to pass out this was before I found out the cause.
