Oh my, that is so sad! I've heard of these things happening and I can't even imagine going through something like that. I won't lie though, all of mine wear collars in their crate.....perhaps I should rethink this. Thanks for sharing!!

Oh my god, how awful! Ocean has always hated a collar so hasn't worn one, but Venus always does. She gets whiny without it, like she realizes it's gone and will pace until she gets it back. The other day I noticed Gabe kept sticking his hand through it and I was so worried he would choke her I took it off and only put it on her when we go outside now. I never though of it catching on something and potentially killing her Thank you for this eye opening post.

Very sad, I don't leave collars on mine around the house as it's so easy for them to get caught on something

That's so terrible. We don't leave a collar on Odie. We once used a pheromone collar on our cat that was supposed to be quick release. We went on vacation and my mom was taking care of him and found him with the bottom of his mouth stuck in it. Poor guy. It worked well with his behaviour but not worth him harming himself.

That is so sad.
I never put a collar on Cai inside the house. Before I got him, I read about dogs hanging themselves inside their homes while the owner stepped out. I can't imagine coming home to that.
