Default A whole turkey

So I was looking at the grocery stores ads today and their giving a free turkey if you buy a ham. Mom is very specific when it comes to brand of turkey but she wants the ham. So I was thinking we could get the turkey for the dogs and a family members dog even freeze the rest (it's 10-14 pounds)
Anyways I'll cook it in the oven but I don't want to put any kind of spices (at all) but I'm wondering if I should put butter?
I'd rather not put anything at all and leave it plain though. But not sure if the dogs would eat it. When I make them boil chicken it's bland. But I'm thinking the turkey would be too dry.

Ari, As long as you give the dogs a little bit of turkey it should be fine. DO NOT give them the skin. It is way too fat, and might give them pancreatitis. I would not put butter on the turkey either, for the same reason. Every Thanksgiving many dogs end up with this disease, because their humans can't resist giving the dogs 'just a little'. The other thing you can do, is make the turkey with all the basting etc and use it for sandwiches or a dinner and give the dogs a little bit of the white meat. The 'catch' word is A LITTLE.

My family won't eat the turkey at all. Very brand specific.
I will definitely not give the dogs any fat bones or skin at all. Just all white meat.
So I'm thinking putting it in the oven just plain no spices no butter. And they could have some for a couple of days straight and freeze the rest for a later date. As I read its just as good as chicken to give them (when it's "clean")
