Good subject Michelle. I have discovered that not all store brands are bad. You need to get to know what you can trust and what you can't.

i.e. Coffee is insanely priced and we try to stock up when it's on sale. Sometimes we just can't though so I started looking at store brands. I shop at Acme a lot. We had tried ValuTime coffee, which was horrible. We threw it out. Then we tried Food Club which is really a good hearty coffee, comparable to Folgers or Maxwell House, and only $7.99/cn. instead of $9.99/cn.

This week, Acme was running a one day sale on Folgers, my favorite, $4.77/cn. limit 3. We got 3 cans and that should hold us until it's on sale the next time.

I also shop the sale items as much as I can, buying only meats etc. that are on sale.

I like store brands as well and I find that Laura Lynn seems to be a good one with most products that I buy. So with Food Lion, Bi Lo and Ingles I enjoy buying their brands. I cant find a difference in most products. I dont drink coffee so I am not sure about those though

You are down south! I don't think we have any of those stores up here, and I don't think Acme is down south. Any Pigley Wigley's <sp> around you?

I heard a report on the news about Walmarts groceries having melamine in it and I won't buy groceries there anymore.

I'm sure not all the food does, but some does according the the report.

Is that all of Walmart brands or are we talking like meats and bakery? I bought some Fruit Loops there and Powder Donuts but they are not Walmart brand. How about Sams Club?
