Today Hubby and I started our "Whole Food" way of eating. Its not 100% whole food, but its a start!
We are mainly focusing on things locally grown and farmed, although I have to buy my fruits, especially berry's out of season because I LOVE them! lol
But over all if its not "grown naturally", we are trying to use it very sparingly. We are still eating yogurt, cheese, granola, oatmeal, whole grain bread & a nightly allowance for a serving size dark chocolate splurge. We are also including Flax Seed and Flax Seed oil.
We are fazing out artificial drinks & pop, he drinks regular and I drink diet... neither are good for us, but I've read diet is actually worse! We are going to have lemon / lime in water. Its good and I love water anyway.
I know they aren't "whole food" but I bought a box of 100 calorie snack cookies.... those are for emergency chocolate attacks or when we NEEED something sweet or else we will overindulge and fall off the wagon! Thankfully to me my berries are usually good enough. But, there are times I will kill someone if I don't get chocolate... LMAO
Exercise will be 2 - 30 minute walks a day. Time to pull out the ole treadmill and put it to work! Its not an $800 dollar clothes hanger after all!!!!!! LMFAO
So far we have done good today. Breakfast was eggs and turkey bacon, lunch was salad with grilled chicken and dinner hasn't been decided yet. lol I am enjoying a raspberry yogurt with granola. Yummmmmmy!
We are hopeful of this new lifestyle change and hopefully we can lose 50 pounds by summer.... lol
Anyone else doing a "Whole Food" diet? Please share thoughts, opinions, ideas, success stories and recipes!!!
*EDIT* Sorry I was calling it "raw food diet" but I was meaning "Whole Food". :tard:
