Default Chinese Crested woes

Well I had told you guys a couple months back about inquiring about a Crested and this lady offering me a teeny tiny boy that had closed ear canal. I thought it was fate because she had not considered selling him but after speaking with me for over 1 hour on the phone she offered him to me as I have the smaller Chi's and am experienced with the little guys. I accepted, planned on meeting her (would have been a 5 hr drive) and something made me doubt my decision that morning and I cancelled on her. I thought she would be upset but on the contrary she told me that she was offering him to me only and no hurry. Then while I was thinking it out again and still corresponding with her thru email she decided that she had gotten attached to him and was going to keep him. I knocked this up as fate and although I was disapointed I kept on with my search and I still talk to her frequently. Well that has been about 3 months now and I gave up looking as the one's I saw just were not tugging at my heart strings like Peanut did. I decided that adding a CC must not be right at this time so I gave up. Well this weekend she contacted me and told me that she did not feel she was giving Peanut the time he needs and would like to offer him to me again and if I didnt take him she was still going to keep him but just thought she would let me know. Now I am torn again I dont know if this is fate again or what....fate is sure confusing the you know what out of me right now Right when I gave up? Now the one I wanted so badly is back in the picture?

He is 5 months old now and I am sure set in some behaviors although she said that he is a high strung little knucklehead that loves to play with her cats and that the cats have never accepted a dog before they way they have accepted him. She also says that he is FULL of energy. He is very well socialized as they love to show him off so he is fine around people and other animals. She is sending me new pics tomorrow night and I cant wait to see them and share them.

I would love to have Chibi a little playmate as he is wide open most of the time and drives Yoshi nuts. Yoshi is very low energy.

I am not going to ask what you guys think, LMAO because I already know you are going to say go for it

How old are your CC's? What were their weights at 5 months? I have some breeders tell me that theirs are grown by 8 or 9 months and some tell me 6 months. I get alot of mixed info. Just curious

He was not expected to make it to 3 lbs at maturity. The smallest she has ever produced.

I am not sure how big he is right now but she is supposed to weigh him and let me know when she sends pics.

For those of you that didnt see the pic of him then, here it is. The boy on his right side that is bigger is the boy I originally inquired about that got us talking, he is also a boy that is going to be smaller than average and as you can see he is still quite big compared to little Peanut. Isnt he a doll!

Wow!! He is a cutie!! You know what Im gonna say which of course is GO FOR IT!!! But MoMo mom was very tiny she was about 6-7 lbs and she was a smaller chinese crested but her dad was huge big 16lb guy. Same with Saber his mom was 11lbs and dad was 16lb. But right before xmas they went to the vet for a check up and MoMo born in May weighed 8lbs at Dec and Saber born in June weighed 13lbs in Dec. Thing is about Chinese Cresteds that they are the toy great that is all legs. But I think Gucci isnt gonna get much bigger(I hope) because right now she weighs 6lbs and about the same size as my chihuahuas but her parents are small.

My only advice or thoughts would be...

While your energetic Chibi might be delighted at the new arrival, what effect will it have on the life of the quieter Yoshi. There's no guarantee that the two boiterous boys will not try and include him in their play. How do you think that will make him feel? It's difficult.

Only you really know your dogs, so good luck whatever you decide to do

I wonder if you could take him on a trial basis? Like for a weekend? With the understanding that if he doesn't fit in with your lifestyle and your dogs that you could give him back. I know some breeders are more than happy to do this arrangement as they want it to succeed but have no problem taking them back if it doesn't. That way you wouldn't have to be completely committed until you see how he fits in.

I bet he will do wonderfully at your house though and will love his new brothers. He is so very tiny! I would also take him to the vet first thing and have a blood panel drawn and check his heart, liver and kidneys, as well as a completely physical to make sure that he doesn't have any problems. You know how those tinies are. They can come with all sorts of physical problems. AT least then you'd be going into it with your eyes wide open and not just on the emotion of it.

But yes, I think you should take him.
