Exclamation Scared to death!

My brother just called me and said his doctor thinks he has lung cancer!!!! I am freaking out!!! He is only 28 years old and a father of 2!!! We won't know more until his lung scan NEXT WEEK, damn insurance company!

He has been smoking since since he was 11, including marijuana, so this isn't a complete shock, but he is ONLY 28!!!! I feel like I am going to go crazy waiting for an answer!!!!

Have faith- my brother has been a smoker for a long time and we had a simular scare with pulminary event that had him gasping for air and feeling like he was going to sufficate. Ultimately he was diagnosed with a heart defect that was later rebutted when he saught a second opinion.

You are in our Prayers

Thinking of you and of course your brother. Please keep in mind that lung cancer can often be treated and can respond well to different approaches.
I'll send healing thoughts to both of you.

I hope you are blessed with good family and friends who can support you too.

I understand that feeling. They found a "spot" on my dad's routine x-ray and we were all on edge waiting to see what the biopsy showed. Turns out it was just some scar tissue and negative for cancer. What a relief. It did, however, scare him into STOPPING SMOKING. So not all bad. Let us know when you know something. Will keep him in my thoughts and prayers and you too.

My daughter was told she may have MS,months of worry ,till the tests and MRI scan were taken, turned out thank god she hasn't,doctors should not tell people these things untill all tests are back and they know for sure, causes so much worry,i'm sure he hasn't got it at that age,far too young.

well sorry to say but he brought this one upon himself...smoking for that long will eventually lead to lung cancer, surprised he hasn't got anything worse from it. i hate smokers who smoke for long thinking their not gonna get anything bad from it....esp from weed as well. my bf's friend smoked since he was young as well...and is a chain smoker still....the funny thing is he works for a dentist teeth making place....when will people learn that these things are harmful in so many different ways?...as well as 2nd hand smoking for his kids...wow. but i am sorry to hear about this...i hope there is something that he can take or so that can make him feel better....he better stop smoking though while there is still a chance. good luck !
