Default Zoey's Journey to good health...

As some of you might have seen in another thread, we are starting Zoey on treatment to get her over some of her issues, and hopefully off of most if not all of her medications. We met with the Veterinarian/homeopath yesterday. I figured I would keep a progress journal to let y'all know how she's doing. Here's what we are working on

1- Diet (Prey Model Raw 80% Meat, 10% Bone, 5% Liver, 5% other organs
2- Supplements:
Vit's (antioxidants) A, C, E, Zinc & Selenium (new)
Nupro
Digestive Enzymes (new)
Priobiotics (new)
Salmon Oil
Coconut Oil (new)
Phycox (glucosamine/chondroitin)
Braggs ACV
Echinacea (liquid I make from the herb itself)

3- Homeopathic Remedies
Silica to start the 'detox', and then Belladonna to help her get over the chronicness of her diseases.
She is coughing at the moment, no infection just think her COPD is acting up due to weather changes, so is on a 1 day treatment of Antimonium Tartaricum, to help with expectoration.
Zeel for arthritis/joints (in hopes to get her off of long term Metacam)

We will report back in about 2 weeks to the Dr to let her know how things are going and will make a decision on what homeopathic remedy/what else to do next. She is NOT amused with me for the past few days with having to meet a new vet yesterday, and having to take pills that I can't hide in anything as I can't physically touch them....that's LOADS of fun. We are going to work on each one of her systems where she has issues, the first will be her respiratory since that's the area she seems to have the most problems with.

On another note we are treating my dad's cat Petey with Lachesis (snake venom) to help his Rodent Ulcer/Eosinophillic Granuloma, there was a study that was done where 10 cats were cured of it after just a dose or two. As well as learned today of a remedy that may help reduce blood sugar in diabetics so Rob & my mom are going to be giving that a try. I am very excited about this.

Keep your fingers crossed that it will help Zoey. I would LOVE to not have to give her medications anymore.

If you want to learn more here are a couple of EXCELLENT books I'd recommend:

Amazon.com: Dr. Pitcairn's New Complete Guide to Natural Health for Dogs and Cats (9781579549732): Richard H. Pitcairn D.V.M., Susan Hubble Pitcairn: Books

You're such a great chi mom, Heather! I so hope this helps sweet little Zoey! I'll definitely be following your journal posts. Best of luck, it would be wonderful if you didn't have to give her some of the meds anymore.

I hope all the best for Zoey. What a lucky girl to have someone love her so much to take such good care of her

Keep us informed how she does! What works & what you think doesn't work. I'd like to go a more homeopathic way rather than running to the vet if I can although mine isn't that bad off.
