Default Newbie from Knoxville

I was just adopted by a little guy who was running loose with no collar in north Knoxville. He is young, cuddly, and in need of vet care. He has what I hope is a fatty lipoma which dangles down between his rear legs and affects his gait a little, but doesn't slow him down. We're headed to the vet tomorrow. A possible name is Mr. Bo Dangles. It's a working title anyway. He rides well in the car and does fairly well on a leash. His nails need trimming. He is adorable, and I'm looking forward to being his person.

Welcome and good luck! What did the vet say about the growth?

Hey Neighbor!

Welcome to the forum. Good for you for rescuing Mr. Bo Dangles (love the name!) Read your other thread too. Good luck on the surgery and let us know the outcome will you?

I didn't see what the vet said. What surgery is he to have?

Maus (aka Mr. Bo Dangles) had surgery a week ago yesterday and goes back this coming Monday to get the stitches out. It was a sub-cutaneous mast cell tumor, not the worst kind but not the best either. He's a happy camper without the dangle and so much fun. I am blessed.

I had foot surgery a week ago today, so we are recovering together. My nerve block lasted a blissful 28 hours. Maus is keeping me company. I never have to wonder where he is.

So glad you can recover together! Sorry his tumor was an angry one, though.

How old is Maus? Can the vet tell? A mast cell tumor is not necessarily a death sentence. We had a sheltie with one about 6 years old, and she died of something else at 9.6 years. Hopefully the vet got it all. Glad you are recovering too.
