Default Heartworm and Flea meds reactions

I'm at wit's end. My 7 year old chi is allergic to everything it seems, including all vaccinations. Trifexis makes him really sick. Today I tried Nexgard and Heartgard. Within 20 minutes he had diarrhea and in 4 hours he was vomiting. I don't know what to do about next month. Would giving these on different days help this situation possibly?

I don't give anything for ticks and fleas. Use a flea comb several times a day. As for heart worm, get him tested 2-3 times a year. If he is positive, then treatment is not generally as bad as if the worms get to the adult size. Talk with your vet. Maybe go to a holistic vet? There are oils that repel fleas and ticks, and mosquitoes. This forum has lots of ideas, look at some of the old posts related to this problem.

Separating the meds could very well help. I would certainly separate them if I had a sensitive dog. That would also let you know if it is one or the other or both that are causing the problem. I hope the diarrhea and vomiting didn't last too long for both your sakes!
