Default OK, my question

When my mother passed, I inherited her Chis. There was one male that walked on three legs, meaning he would pee on everything so I had to live in the garage. With him was a female that he seemed to become very attached to.

Fast forward to a few days ago. The girl with him passed away, leaving him alone and now he howls all the time. Is there anything short of bringing him into the house that might get him to stop? well, short of bringing him into the house and getting another dog.

I would try getting a belly band and letting him in the house. Also my basset hound was mourned the loss of his sister and a friend suggested giving this:

Tranquility Blend 1oz - Animal Essentials

It did help but I did lose him the following year. I honestly think he died from a broken heart.

I have tried the belly band before but he pulls it right off. this little guy is a total escape artist. if there is anywhere in the back yard he can get out of, he finds it.

Maybe try a playpen/Iris pen for him. That way he'd be contained in the house, but unable to pee every where. Would the diapers for dogs work any better? I hope you mean the chihuahua lived in the garage, and not you!

I think its mostly that he does not want to be alone. I have a feeling he will scream in the crate if he is by himself.
I was hoping someone would suggest a stuffed critter as a friend haha

You can try a stuffed animal but honestly they mourn like we do. He needs extra attention and possibly a new friend or a change. Each case in this situation is different. I would try the diaper and instead of a crate use a play pen or try the diapers. Also make sure he doesn't have a UTI and it is just a behavioral marking issue.
