Default Please Help!

Hi Guys,

My Chi Teddy had started itching quite a lot a couple weeks back, so i went to investigate and found a couple of patches on his back that were black with red edges and there was no hair there. So i wasn't sure as to what it was. after searching the internet a bit, i found out that it could be mange. ppl recomended apple cider vinegar and honey and veg oil as application. i tried all three, alternating between them on different days and times etc. The itching got a lot better, however he did itch from time to time and now it seems to have spread all over his body. I dont know what to do.

Any suggestions/advice?

Thanks in advance!

The pics didn't load (probably just my end)
I would 1st have to say go the vet.
I've never had a dog have red patchy skin.
But if the pup is itchy I would recommend Benadryl as it's generally safe to give to dogs and it will help them with their itching. It 1 mg per pound every 8 to 12 pounds. I don't know how big your Chi is but my 5 pounder gets 1/4 of the pill. And my 14 pounder gets half of the pill, 25mg.
Have you showered the put with anti itch shampoo. Jr gets allergies and he needs this pretty much all year round.
I wonder if it could also be food. Jr gets really itchy when he's on grain food (now gets only grain free)
Then again the pup could just have some type of skin infection of some sort.

PLEASE GET TEDDY TO THE VET ASAP. This could be a lot of things including low thyroid, mange, etc. The vet will take a scraping of the skin and look under the microscope. If it is mange, then there a medications for it. Home remedies just aren't going to cut it for this advanced case. If you can't afford a vet, many times they will work with you, or refer you to one that can. Please don't wait, this dog is suffering.
