Default New here

Hi,

I joined the forum a few days ago, and I have tried to start a new thread on the chihuahua questions forum as I have a question to post there but it will not allow me to post. How long until an admin approved me to post? I am getting a second puppy soon and need my question about introductions to existing dog answered. Thank you!

The administrators need to OK your first 5 posts. Otherwise just go ahead and post what ever question you have, and it will come up under 'newbie'.

As to the introduction of the new puppy: it depends on your other dog. Is he/she nice toward other dogs? Not so nice? I would have a large pen (I like the Iris pen) and put the puppy in there for the other dog to meet thru the 'bars'. If there is no snarling etc, then I'd let the pup out to meet the other. There may well be some guarding from the older dog, lifting of the lips, growling etc. As long as there is no movement to 'attack' the pup, all is OK. Most older dogs will 'correct' a puppy if they get too 'pesty' with them. It may take awhile to have every one get along as real buddies.
