Welcome to the forum, Eleanor. Have you had a small dog before; or has your family? You have to learn the 'shuffle' when you are around the baby. He/she will quickly learn that feet are to be watched. My little 4 pound pup (6 yrs old) does the zoomies around me in the morning after being released from her night time pen. Both of us are careful, and she gives me plenty of room.(I'm 80 so have to be careful of my balance) If this will be your first puppy, there are lots of past posts about what to have on hand when it comes home
