Hello, I adopted a 12-year-old 4 1/2 years ago. Now at 16 going on 17, he is beginning to show some age. His hearing and sight might be compromised. He has a good appetite if it pleases him!
He was a fear biter who took 2 full months to allow me to even touch him. He came with a rotted chewed off leash that just had to stay there. Finally I did get it off him. He continued to bite or threathen us with a snarl and snap. However when he gave his "permission" to be touched he had this endearing trait of walking to your feet and ducking his tiny little head to be petted ever so gently.
He's a little dear and loves nothing more than being in bed beside me. He wants to be in bed non-stop 23 hours a day!
I don't have that kind of time.
Snickers was let go from his first home at age 8, then there were 5 more homes between his first family and me. So I am Lucky 7! He is my first Chi, but not my first tiny dog......and, I love him.
However the past almost year, he is driving me to distraction with his constant pacing. If I take him to lie down on the bed I have to wait for him to go to sleep to sneak off the bed. I don't have time for naps.
He does not like to sit on my lap or be held. Only in the car on my lap on a comfy pillow.
Is this the actions of a Senior or what.
