She goes to the door and just waits or looks out. I would like her to ring a bell like our other dog (Bichon named Cody) but we're having trouble with that. We also started puppy classes a few weeks ago which are going great. Of course she's in a group of all big dogs, but so far so good. She is a little stubborn though.

I plan on getting her micro chipped when she is spayed, but I was also thinking about getting pet insurance as I know little dogs can have numerous health issues. We don't have insurance on our Bichon and both his back knee's did need to be replaced (he's 10). What do you guys think? Is it something I should look in to?

Thanks and this site is fabulous!!!!

Welcome Lauren and Violet to chi people. I'm sure you well have fun here and you well get so much info.

I didn't use the ring bell in training Chico but I'm sure someone here well help you in that.
Chi's can be stubborn but you need to be persistent and patient and you MUST show her that you are Alfa or else she well never lesson to you.
I would recommend if you did look into pet insurance. You never know when you well need it.

I can't wait to see more pics of Violet she is very cute and post pics of Cody too.
