Default on the hunt

Hey everyone long time no talk

weve finally moved into our new home and settled in we are now on the hunt for our female doberman ive contacted several reputable show breeders but so far most arent expecting litters until late fall. Although we will wait longer if we have to we are anxious to bring our baby home.

Some quick updates

1. We got a new hammie 4-5 months ago approx named Lucy shes a friendly loud bar chewer

2. The first night we moved into our new house we lost our beloved betta fish Lenny no idea how it happened as he was healthy and not that old. I walked into a pet store looking for bully sticks for the chis and walked out with 2 bettafish 2 weeks ago lol

meet dexter and jax

3. A few pics of the chichis cant leave them out

We babysat a chi a couple weeks ago heres the 3 of them in the backyard

hope everyones well I been trying to catch up on all the missed posts

Hey Sherri! Welcome back.

I was thinking, have you considering adopting a Dobie from a shelter/rescue?
Too bad you're not closer, there is a beautiful one at our local one right now.

ps: love the pics, pups look cute.

We did consider that but my bf has never had a dog before and is a) worried a rescue will kill the chis lol and b) wants a puppy as hes never had one before and wants to train her from the beginning etc if we didnt have the chis probably would have discussed it more

I just thought I'd mention it in case you haven't considered the idea.
I live near a shelter and see the volunteers walk the dogs all day long,
and it blows my mind how many pure bred dogs they get. I mean I've
even seen a Basenji once, and over here these dogs are so hard to find.
I thought maybe you guys could find what you are looking for this way.
But I also understand what your bf wants. I'm happy to read that you
are looking for a reputable, good breeder. I wish you lots of luck in your
search, I LOVE Dobies, and can't wait to see your future addition.
Do you have a color preference, or gender?

Hey ls I definitely want to go the reputable breeder route we got my french mastiff from a byb I spent over $10000 on surgeries because she was poorly bred this doberman will cost us $2000-$2500 but the lines are excellent health testing is done on all of their breeding stocksand they are multi champions.

We can only get a female since we have a male in the house no reputable breeder will sell anyone a male if they have a male as the male doberman will kill it from what ive learned.

We prefer the black tradional doberman over the red

I found a breeder almost 2 hours away that is expecting puppies in 3 weeks we have been in contact with her and are planning to go visit her and meet the mom july 13.

So exciting
