Default Chews & Toys for bigger dogs

I was wondering, is there any stuffed animals that can withstand a bigger dogs chewing? The only thing that hasn't fallen apart is the Kong duckie that Mia loves. But other non-stuffed/stuffed animals are ripped apart in a week or less. She loves stuffed animals and not interested in nylabones unless I'm holding it for her. If there's any other toys out there, I'm up for suggestions.

Besides Himalayan dog chews, raw bones, antlers and bully sticks are there any other chews that I should try?

Thanks.

I like the flat toys, or stuffing less. I have a turkey, raccoon, fox, and cat. They still have a squeaker in the head. Also, I got a canvas stuffed toy from Martha Steward's line of toys that lasted quite well. I can't copy links on my iPhone (or just haven't figured out how yet) but look up stuffing less toys on the Internet. Petsmart has a good selection.

I do not have a bigger dog but Jaxx is a very excessive chewer. We have had to figure out what toys work and what toys he will destroy in a matter of minutes.

Kong Cozies hold up pretty well. Kong Cozies is one of the few regular stuffed animals that have held up to Jaxx. He has 3 of them and 2 of them still have the stuffing. I usually will remove the stuffing and sew toys back up if Jaxx tears the stuffing out of it that is why one of the Kong Cozies do not have stuffing but I think that one just wasn't manufactured properly.

I have found toys made out of canvas or corduroy hold up a lot better than regular plush. Jaxx can destroy canvas toys but it takes him a while. He had a JW canvas monkey and it lasted him 8 months before it was destroyed. Jaxx has yet to destroy any of the plush toys that are made out of corduroy.

We usually buy Kong or JW pet toys because they have held up really well for Jaxx. We did have to buy the Kong toys that were made for larger dogs because Jaxx destroyed the XS version of stuffed animals in a matter of minutes.

I just ordered Jaxx a dragon that is made by GoDog that is supposed to have "chew guard" and stand up to excessive chewers. I am not sure how well it is going to hold up yet but it looks like it is made well.

I like the Gallahalea (sp?) bones and they are indestructible I have always used these for my Danes. I also like the animals that have the 2 liter bottles inside of them instead of stuffing they do get destroyed but takes longer than most. I also like to go to thrift stores and get large stuffed animals for $1.00 or less, this works great if you do not have a dog that ingests the toy when destroying it.

I noticed the pink bunny squeaky ball that I bought from Martha Stewart's line holds up pretty well except for the ears. I had to finally unstuff the head of it last night because she chews the stuffing out. But I'll look at the canvas stuff next time I'm in there. But some stuff with less stuffing she still tears it apart.

Let me know how the GoDog lasts!! I'm going to buy another small duck cozies for her with my next order of dog food because she loves it so much and it's only $2.99 at chewy.com. I'm trying to order at least a toy or treat with her dog food. She also loves the JW ball, like the one that you have. I think she just love soft toys like the cozies, but I'll look and see if they have any canvas or corduroy online.

I tried the ones with the bottles and she tears them up in less than a week...lol. But i'll look up those bones that you suggested. She also steals my kids stuffed animals and used them as a chew toy too, so it becomes her toys if she destroys them, both her and Star tries to eat the stuffing. And Mia has eaten the outside of the Kong toys with the tennis ball material on the outside.

Jaxx's GoDog dragon came today in the mail. I am very impressed in the quality. The squeaker sounds a little weird and scared Jaxx at first but he is now carrying it around everywhere he goes.

I will let you know if it holds up but it looks like it will.

Have you tried the Skineez brand of stuffing free toys? Krystal sent one to Jaxx last year for SS and it still looks new.

Thank you for your suggestions again Amy Jo! Let me know how the toys holds up after a few weeks.

Honestly, I haven't tried anything besides Kong and cheap stuffless toy at Petsmart. Since I adopted her, I been so busy with her and it seems like I been living at the vet with her "health issues" the last few months.

We have a friend with larger dogs who loves the Kong toys. We have several of them for the girls too, but these are a durable favorite for his Huskies.
