Default Rehoming issues?

After a long hard trial with a larger breed we agreed he couldn't live with us due to him deciding he didn't like my chi boy and with a 17kg weight difference no way was I going to let them pick who was dominant. I'd never risk an injury on any dog let alone a tiny guy from a bigger dog. So after a lot of consideration and not picking people we picked a family who claimed one of them claimed to be a dog trainer, they came with the kids who he loved loads of licks and kisses later they left happy that he was they're forever puppy. I explained every last flaw and blew them out of proportion so that she was prepared for the worst. She has done nothing but message me asking for advice with him which I've given and she's went against, he's been there 7 hours and she's stressing me worse than anything since he's upset stressed an not ate. I've never rehomed a dog who has ate straight away, I've never rehomed one who's walked in like he's always been there they always have a few days of take me back to my mum. Now she's trying to say her kid is freaking him out, that she thinks a boy has hit him or something... Excuse frickin me my dogs are treated better than my family if anyone hit my dogs they'd be in orbit. She knows I can't have him back as its risking my own dogs life who is frankly more important as he's been here years not months, I have serious doubts she's told me the truth I thought they were my best option as they sounded perfect now she's acting like the dogs swinging from the ceiling like hes been abused. Where do I stand what do I do? I seriously cant take it I spent the whole week in tears deciding on this and I've not managed to eat or sleep in days, and finally I think I've done good and boom it hits me like a freight train and I dont know what more to tell a trainer about getting a preloved pooch. Any one have any advice I've already begged family to keep him even offered to pay for him but keep him in they're home and no one can help for various valid reasons. She spend all day and night reassuring me he'd be fine and now this ðŸ˜*

Ay, yei, yei! A trainer???? Something is not right here. Is it feasible for you to take him back and try again? What a tough situation. So sorry you have to go through this.

It gets worse with every message :confounded: i doubt it he was becoming dog aggressive and since he could still grow a lot and he did have a go at my tiny one so, luckily no contact was made just a load of noise and quick thinking to stop it escalating, but the fear of him getting worse with ours made it not worth waiting till he wasn't retrain-able. I've never heard of a trainer who didn't know how to introduce a dog to a new home, surely that's a question you'd get fairly often! I'd love to have him here but since he's been gone today my dogs have perked up to no end and my smallest is able to play again, his play growl made the bigger dog think he was ready to attack him even through a crate. We tried for months and almost had it down to a slightly manic t, but after an idiot let they're aggresive dogs off leash go for him he became fearful of any dog, even trying to do our usual group walk was impossible. So I picked a dog free home with what sounded and seemed to be lovely people. Ugh why can't people be honest these days. It has me so worried that she's just going to give up on him within hours because she won't follow my advice of making him a den in a closed off room where he can hear n see people through a safety gate or his crate but no that's impossible and crazy, why wouldnt you invite people in make them take him out and then bring more people in while you haul him into the now busy new filled sitting room. I've looked into it and if she tries to sell him on for profit or not I don't care if I need to keep him in kennels till he has a home i will be going for him and I will be finding out where she "trained" and if that's complete bs I will be contacting the police, deception and providing false information to obtain goods. Accusing me of abuse caused me marching around the house calling everyone I know in panic, the senario of someone even questioning that when I provided her with enough stuff to keep him in almost all situations and more than a months food made sure he had all his flea n wormer done so she could see it was done explaining all his quirks and silly points and explaining his basically life history while answering all her questions and entertaining having her family in my home without fussing her in anyway. Furious doesn't describe my tiny self. It makes you wonder how do we even know how to choose a new home for our doggies if the time comes or even puppies.. I'll just be living in a sea of chihuahuas in the future

Is there any way you can take the dog back and find him another home? You could keep him separated from your other dogs for the time being?

Ummm I'd have taken him back no questions asked...especially since it had been under a day from what I understand? I understand it's not an ideal situation with your dogs BUT as you said...you have done it for months...whats a few more days until you can figure something out? Certainly isn't fair for the big dog to be passed around & it will only make any behaviors worse. Poor dog. I can't believe those people just went & dumped him into a shelter but it sounds like they didn't feel they had any other option. Although...really doesn't seem like they knew what it was to own a dog period.

What a sad situation. I hope you are able to find the dog & get him back & place him in a loving home.
