Default Fostering

Well that did not last long... She already has a potentially forever home so if her meet and greet goes well she will just go to them and bypass us. I am happy for her that she got a forever home so quickly! Also a little sad we never got to even meet her.

Yeah it happens! There are certain ones that you just can't let go. My dad tried to talk me into one hound once but he got adopted and is living the spoiled life with his own recliner The reason we built our dog house the way we did was for the foster pups that needed a place to go A 10X10 shed can fit multiple hounds

Aww so awesome you will be opening your home to fosters It's so sad to see them go but it's so rewarding at the same time. You will feel really when when you get to see them in a great forever home. My chi foster Juan Pablo just got adopted 2 weeks ago - I had him for 3 months. I also foster cats and kittens and my foster kitty got adopted a week after the chi, so now I'm back to just my 2 pups and 2 cats. I had a very difficult time giving this kitty away - even though I have fostered so many in the past this one was special. But I knew if I kept him I wouldn't be able to keep fostering. So that's what always helps me let go...I have to always keep a spot open for one foster dog and one foster cat

I've fostered 6 dogs so far and probably about 20 cats/kittens and I've only been a foster fail once so far This is Luigi who I took in as a 1 day old, 3 ounce kitten. I spent 24/7 with her feeding her every hour and helping her go potty, etc. She managed to survive and I just couldn't her go
This is her the day I got her:

And this is her now

TinyTails- That was my Huly! He was 2-3 weeks 0.5lbs and I bottle fed him, doctored his face etc and the day the rescue said they could take him I said he has a home! Best decision I have ever made

We foster and there are a couple of kittens I wish I had never let go. I bottle raised both.

It is hard but worth it, and I am a person who can't do the multiple dog thing very well so it is easier because my own dogs want me to themselves. It helps when you have to let go.
