Default Lilly update!

Lilly's test results came back.

The vet thinks she has Cushing's but that it is so mild that it doesn't need to be treated at the minute. He wants to do follow up blood work and reevaluate in a few months.

Her liver results were all over the place. Some levels were high, others were low. I don't really know the specifics but he seemed optimistic. He wants to keep her off the rimadyl and retest in a few months as well.

For her arthritis, he recommended a new injection that he has seen very positive reactions to so far. It is similar to glucosamine but is given as an injection. Since Lilly cannot take glucosamine orally (makes her tummy upset and she vomits) he thinks this may be a good option. She cannot be on rimadyl because of her liver, so she is in severe pain right now. My mom has the name and is doing research on the injection before she decides.

Overall, not bad news! We are just happy that he seems to have a treatment plan.

Aww sweet Lilly, I hope she'll get some relief soon, poor babe. The vet does
sound optimistic, knowledgeable & caring, I'm glad Lilly is in such good hands.
Thanks for updating us Ash, I often think of little Lilly and Rocky.

Poor little Rocky got neutered yesterday, it ended up being more complicated than usual. He was "well endowed" and the surgery ended up quite complicated. He ended up with a large bruise across his scrotum. They picked him up around 3 yesterday and took him back around 4:30. The vet said its uncommon but not particularly unusual. However, it does make recovery a bit more painful than ordinary. They gave him pain meds and they have to be on alert in case he has to go back to the vet or to the emergency vet. Poor thing is very unhappy.

Ouch! Poor Rock!
At least it's over with and behind him, poor little man. Hopefully there won't be
need to go back. Your poor mom, it's one thing after another. I wish both Lilly &
Rocky good health, sending lots of positive, healing wishes their way.

My poor mom is going through a lot right now, besides with the dogs. We all are. It's been a very rough weeks, unfortunately. Thank you for the well wishes.
