Default Orijen freeze dried?

Has anyone else used orijen fd? I find it is almost impossible to get it to absorb the water
Instructions say break into quarters and let sit for a few minutes
I'm breaking into 12-15 pieces and letting it sit for 30 mins and still having dry pieces

I used it and had no problem with it softening but Odie wouldn't eat it.

I have that problem with Stella and Chewy's. I emailed them asking for tips and was told that bird formulas are softer and will absorb better. I forget which formulas Origen offers, but I was trying to get lamb to absorb water and had no luck. Maybe the protein you have is too dense to absorb much as well?

Yes thanks that could be
I'm using the regional red
I just have to mush it with a fork
