Default Ziwipeak question

Okay, I know this is a stupid question but I'm gonna ask anyway...

Is Ziwipeak a complete food that you scoop a certain amount out and put it in a bowl and feed it, like kibble? Or is it a dehydrated food? Or is it a food that you add meats and such to?

For some reason I got confused when reading about it.

Thanks!

There are NO stupid questions.

Yes, it is a complete food. It comes in a bag just like kibble. It has a little scoop in it too. It is tiny jerky squares about the size of a dime.

It is complete and balanced by itself. You don't add anything to it. So it's really just like kibble as far as opening the bag and throwing it in the bowl. But it's actually a dehydrated raw meat product. It's very unique and although it's expensive, I think it's definitely worth it.

I will tell you that Brody is picky about his ZiwiPeak though. He likes it to be fresh and chewy. If you accidentally leave it unzipped (has a ziplock closure on top of the bag), it can dry out and get rather stale. Then he doesn't like it as much. So since a bag lasts a LONG time around here, I portion it out into ziplock sandwich baggies and freeze. Then just take out a baggy as needed. It stays super fresh that way.

I know lots of performance people who use it as treats/bait. It's really a great product, you should definitely try it.

We are switching over to Ziwi this week! I had my local store order it in for us.
It seems really neat, and personally I don't find it expensive.

Thanks Tracy!!

It would be too expensive for me to feed as I feed 3 medium size dogs and 1 chihuahua and we go through about 6.5 cups of food a day. No matter what food I try to feed, I can never seem to feed less. I know people say that the better the food you feed, the less you have to give, but I can't seem to feed less than that.

It would make some rockin' training treats though! I go through a lot of training treats between my own dogs and the dogs I'm working and it's always nice to use something other than hot dogs or cheese. I sometimes use frozen Bil-Jac and they really like that. I bet they'd like ziwipeak even better!

I think it would be awesome for treats!!! And so good for them too.

When I go to my mom's I always bring a baggy along and my mom's papillon will literally stand on her head to get a bite of Ziwi. She absolutely goes crazy for it. You could teach that dog anything if you had some Ziwi for treats, she is so motivated.
