Default some ziwi questions

Ziwipeak dried daily cuisine has been a TOTAL life saver when it comes to dog shows for us. I detest how it smells, but it is the ONLY thing that keeps Bryco from getting loose poos aside from bone-in-chicken and THK/raw meats/cooked sweet potato. I do prefer the fresh, raw alternatives to Ziwi, but its convenience can't be beat when we are staying at hotels and feeding the dogs on the go.

I always add a bit of water to the food, I figure they need it for processing, or I add pedialyte to Bryco's to make sure he's at his best.

The thing is I really am struggling with amount to feed.

I guess using Trigger as an example, I feed for a 6.5 lb adult dog, which is his ideal weight...he's kinda fat right now at just over 7 lbs and very rotund LOL. The ziwi website (Natural Range Of Premium Pet-food Products - Ziwipeak - Natural New Zealand Pet Nutrition) says he gets 1/2 a scoop a day, meaning 1/4 a scoop 2x a day b'c that is how I feed him. That is NOT very much food at all, which I know we have all pointed out and discussed here before...but I just want to be sure I am not confusing this.

But the part I struggle w/ more is Oakley and Bryco, Oakley is 3.5 lbs and Bryco is close to 4 lbs. So they'd get more than 1/3 of a scoop but less than 1/2 a scoop...that's like LOL...a few squares difference? I just don't get how you are supposed to gauge that, the scoop is tiny...

I know others have asked too, and showed what they fed...and compared to what I feed, others seem to feed a LOT? so maybe I'm getting it wrong...

I also want to figure it out as we have to board T & L for a week at x-mas and want to be able to tell them EXACTLY what to feed.

Well...for all 3 of my girls they get 1/3 of a scoop 2x a day. Even though Willow should get more she is on a diet and it seems to be working ok. But I know what you mean, the chart for me is to confusing. If I gave them More they would eat it for sure but Ivy and Fern aren't loosing or gaining with that amount so I guess it is right. They are both 31/2 lbs.

Hmmm, so I wonder if their instructions are actually under the amount required? I don't typically feed it enough that I worry about the amount I give, but since the two boarding will be fed it for a good bit, and both are my chubbies, I want to make sure I tell them the correct amount. The bag says split that amount for a 2.2 lb pup, so maybe its about right for a 3.5 lber. I just got a great deal on the 2.2 lb pouches on amazon...3 for $50, but they only had 1 set at that price...lol 6.6 lbs of ziwi for $50...wish they had more!

I went back to see if they had another set like that to order but they didn't, it was $15 more, so I guess I got the last of the deal, but I'm glad I got it its the 3 different flavors too, which is cool b'c I have only tried 1 flavor before. Of course my 3 little piggies will eat anything, only Oakley's picky. Do Fern and Ivy eat it dry?

Yep all three of them eat it dry, no water added. I also rotate the canned Ziwi as well.

Ok since I just went through this here is what I did I took a whole cup and dumped it out and a plate and then divided it in half then into quarters, I bagged up the quarters in baggies and keep them in the fridge.
It is too hard to try and calculate it just by looking at it in the little cup they provide. It should be just as easy to divide it into thirds but I agree a third isn't much of a difference compared to a quarter. Oh BTW Peebo is doing great on 1/4 cup servings
