Default Need to change puppy food

When I got Fonzie(at 11 weeks-he is now 17 weeks) I knew he was not being feed the proper food, so on my way home, I stopped at a Pet store to buy him some kibble. The lady I talked to recommended Royal Canine for Chihuahuas. Well since then, I discovered a couple of sites that rank dog foods and discovered what I bad choice I had made. I thought about Orijen, but liver problems and stinky gas kept popping up so I discounted that. Iím now down to Innova Puppy, Wellness Super5Mix Small Breed Just for Puppies, Merrick Whole Earth Farms Puppy Formula and Merrick Classic Real Chicken, Brown Rice and Green Pea. Any suggestions from all you smart people out there would be very much appreciated.

I also have Luna wellness core (grain free) and she loves it. I haven't had any problems with it.

I would recommend Acana or Fromm if you want to stay with kibble. Both are excellent and have good grain free varieties. And they are not as rich as Orijen.

Yes, Pidge, I recommend Ziwipeak before the Acana You can go to the Ziwipeak website and ask if they can send you a sample to see if your pup likes it first before buying it. Some dogs don't like ZP so that way it's better than wasting money on expensive food. It's expensive but you feed little to them.

If you don't want to go Orijen, go with Acana grain-free instead. If my dog was eating kibble, that's what I would be feeding her.

Agree. I would feed Fromm if I were feeding kibble. Their Surf and Turf variety is a great grain free food that my girls really liked.

Canít find Fromm. One store sells the Acana but not the one for puppies. They have three types that say for all life stages, so would they be acceptable and would they be small enough for little puppy to chew. No problem finding the Wellness Core Puppy and am wondering if he would have problems chewing that brand. Thank you.

They have the small breeds one too for the wellness KC was always a muncher but when I got her at 8 weeks her food had to be softened by water a bit. Did it for q couple weeks and then I let her choose if she was ready for the dry food. Now she goes to her bowl whenever she wants and takes a kibble one by one and muches it away at the mat,or living room lol
