Unhappy RIP Bitsy

I know I have not been on here in a while but I have checked in to read posts. It is with a heavy heart and tears that I must announce that our sweet Bitsy- who just celebrated her first birthday- has passed over the rainbow bridge. Yesterday morning I let the pups out on the unseasonably warm day for some exercise. We have a 6 foot tall wooden fence around our yard that I thought was very secure. I went out to do a bit of shopping and my husband was home but sleeping. When I arrived home I found that pitbulls who live two doors down had busted two wooden fences to get to my yard and my Bitsy was missing. My neighbor informed me she had been found dead in their yard. No blood on her so it looks like she died of possibly a broken neck or was trampled. I am devastated. I fully blame myself. I should have kept the dogs in while I was gone. I just thought it would be better for them to be out since they had not had a run in the yard in many days. I will never feel my dogs are safe unsupervised ever again no matter how secure it seems. My husband never heard a peep :'(My heart feels like it will never heal. I don't know how Benny will do since he has been with her since birth and is now alone. RIP my little angel :crybaby

This so sad, my heart is breaking with you, I have a pit bull that lives right next store and it is always a worry, they only have a 3 foot fence and he has jumped it before. You are living a nightmare, but it is not your fault, so please try not to blame yourself. Hugs to you.

I am so sorry for your loss. Don't blame yourself, who would have thought those dogs would have gotten thru 2 fences! I have the same fear...my neighbor has 2 pitbull puppies who stay in my yard more than in their own since they are allowed to roam free on their potty breaks. My heart goes out to you!!
