Default Lilo refuses to eat raw chicken

Sorry if this has been asked already.

I'm trying to put Lilo on the raw diet and having trouble making her eat. She gets excited when I give her the food but gives up really quickly.

The first time I gave her a chicken wing tip she was really excited. She was happy to chew as long as I held it at the same time. She ate the bone and clearly enjoyed it... but since then it's like it's too much of a hassle for her. lol She doesn't even want to eat raw chicken breast even if I chop it in tiny pieces. She tries to eat it but spits it out. It's like she doesn't like the texture.

Any tips to make her eat it? I tried to cook small chicken breast chunks lightly which made her more interested in it but she still spat it out. She only eats it if it's fully cooked. Should I try to give her something other than chicken to begin with?

When I switched Coco to the raw diet, she instantly loved it. I never had any problems making her eat anything... but then again she was older than Lilo (who is 15 weeks old). I'm going to keep trying but any tips would be greatly appreciated! I'm feeding her ziwipeak in the mean time which she loves so far.

You're on the right path, by trying to cook the meat a little first. Have you tried skipping a meal if she won't eat it, and offering the same food to her at the next meal? You can try different meats too. Maybe she's just not sure about the raw chicken. Venus always loved raw beef. Maybe give that a try? Keep us posted!

Yes, definitely try beef/hamburger. Also if you think she might think it's too much trouble to eat, try grinding it. We grind our chicken for our two chis because they don't particularly like chicken. They prefer red meats. But if the chicken is ground they don't pout as much about it. They really don't like turkey at all, but if we grind it and heat it minimally they will eat it.

Thanks. I will try grinding the chicken! I had some minced pork at home yesterday and though I read that pork might be a bit too difficult to digest at the start, I gave her a little bit just to see and she LOVED it. So I'm still unsure whether she dislikes chicken or dislikes the trouble... If grinding the chicken doesn't work, I'll try minced beef.
