Default Mimi doesn't want to eat in the morning

This is new, just started a few days ago. She has been getting raw meaty bones, usually chicken in the morning and then a variety of Stella and Chewy's ( but not chicken) at night.

Saturday in the morning she had an accident in the house before breakfast ( my husband over slept and she didn't get let out) that had some obvious runny poop issues. Then she didn't want breakfast. She did end up vomiting a little white foam later. She felt better later and ate dinner fine. We thought maybe she is sick of chicken or it was too cold?

So Sunday she was offered Stella and Chewy's for breakfast. She didn't want to eat. A little more white foam vomit. She was fine later and ate dinner. Stool was back to normal and firm and was again today. This morning again, didn't want to eat offered Stella and Chewy's, vomited a little white foam but ate her breakfast at lunch time.

So readily eats the Stella and Chewy's normally. I'm feeding the Beef, Rabbit and Duck Duck Goose. No signs of obstruction or constipation so I think the white foam vomit is just because by the time that happens she hasn't eaten in nearly 18 hours. She has been acting a little droopy in the morning and not as playful as usual but as soon as she's eaten again she's back to normal.

Not sure what the deal is. I have had dogs on raw refuse food occasionally and have upset stomach and it's always gone away in a few days. She's so tiny though ( compared to my German shepherd). I worry about her skipping meals although she was getting a little chunky for her size. My husband said she just wants to lose those couple ounces and keep her girlish figure. She isn't fat, but you can't feel her ribs and she could probably lose 4-5 ounces. She's still under 6 pounds though.

Should I maybe pick up some canned food?

I wouldn't worry too much, just keep offering and if she doesn't eat it she doesn't. She IS eating, which is a good sign. If she only wants to eat 1x a day I would let her. Her stomach will adjust.

Or, since she will eat around lunchtime, you can start slowly inching that feeding forward until she is once again comfortable eating in the mornings - honestly, it just sounds like that first meal didn't sit well and put her off breakfast a bit.

You're probably right that that one breakfast meal that didn't sit right has just put her off breakfast in general. She's been eating raw for 3-4 months now since we got her. I did try her on canned when we first found her.

Do you think maybe she prefers Stella's? Maybe try just feeding her that, and rotate the flavors and see how that works out.

She wouldn't eat the Stella's in the morning the last couple days. I do rotate the flavors, I'm using 3 different ones.

Sometimes they get nauseous when they are empty, and bring up bile. We call this 'hunger pukes'.
Try feeding her a small snack before bed so she isn't so empty in the mornings. Even saving a couple of bites of her dinner should do the trick.

Oh that's a great idea. She usually gets dinner fairly early.

We do this with Gidget. She just can't go with 2 meals approx. 12 hours apart. It's funny, on the morning meal, she would spit up that white foam--not every morning but enough to know that she just doesn't do well going that long between meals. Now she is fed around 6-6:30 AM, 4-5 PM, & 9-10 PM snack, and she never spits up that white foam anymore.

Hope you are able to solve this soon for her.
